Jonathan Frank about batik in watercolors

American watercolorist Jonathan Frank since childhood has seen enough of the American Grand Canyon. It seems that the red stones of this greatest miracle of nature, or rather the dark edging of claret rocks, pushed him to one productive thought. Batik, in fact, exists in living nature. Moreover, there is no better means to highlight the bright details. These were many in the national reserve "Colorado", with which the future artist lived in the neighborhood. Moving to Denver, at first glance, was supposed to ask all childhood memories with its blurred outlines, but with creative personalities it does not happen. Just exactly the opposite. All landscapes that were popular in childhood were clearly fixed in the memory.

And the craving for these beauties resulted later in a violent creative flow. And Jonathan Frank created a lot of magic watercolor drawings, which managed to repeatedly win various watercolor competitions. The first grand prize, which the artist received in 2000, allowed him to devote himself forever to his beloved profession, travel a lot around his native country and reflect its beauty with the help of watercolors.

As a result, he returned to his native penates - well, almost. Now he lives in the town of Moab, which is in Utah. There are only 5,000 people in it, but is this really the case? The main one is the hotly loved canyons and the Arki National Park. It is a place of eternal inspiration and a never-ending plein-air. If the place is remote, or hard-to-reach, then the artist does not disdain photography, but draws later in the studio. Otherwise, in any way - from the photograph you will never make a watercolor batik.
